VIERNES
This project explores Ocotlán, a secluded Mexican town once known as ‘Guelache,’ or ‘The Market of the Valley,’ which was one of the most important markets in Central America during the Spanish Colonization and the home of Magical Realism painter Rodolfo Morales.
Embracing its surreal essence, I portray the town as a living mural inspired by Morales’ magical realism, using art and community rituals as means of resisting the everyday and the globalized.
